BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES
Born in the Far East
1988 graduated from the Repin Institute, Architectural Department, St. Petersburg Art Academy
In 1996 on Ukhalova’s initiative there was founded Perigee Video Art Laboratory, which was transformed in a public foundation "Video Art Movie" (at St. Petersburg Institute of Cinema and Television). It was founded in order to popularize alternative forms of video art. The Foundation participated in organization of a number of TV projects and contemporary art festivals. One of the latest actions, "Video Art Movie’97" took place at St. Petersburg House of Cinema.
She works with painting, graphics, photography, video art, and architecture. Her art pieces are in the collections of: Zimmerly Museum, Contemporary Art Museum (New York), Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), Fine Arts Academy Museum, and in numerous private collections. Participated in many exhibitions and actions in Russia and abroad. Awarded with Diplomas of Women’s First Interbiennial in Stockholm in 1994, New Academy of Fine Arts, and Master Class Festival in 2003. Participated in a number of video art festivals.
