THE CLOUD, TRAVELLING ROUND THE WORLD, SHOULD NOT TOUCH PLANES, September
1995
Brener Alexander
In George Moore′s notebooks we can find the following words: "A great artist carefully chooses the place where to put his name. He never signs his works at one and the same place".
"Never signs his works at one and the same place" - of course it may refer any artist, not only a great one. But I won’t blame Moore for such inaccuracy. What really struck me were the words: "A great artist carefully chooses the place where to put his name. There was no artist in the East who had ever underestimated the importance of choosing the right place for putting down his seal. Hence to speak about careful choosing of such place is nothing more than truism.
Keeping in mind Moore’s words, who has written them deliberately, I can’t help thinking how much different East and West are.
As far as it concerns me, I always put my signature in the middle.
