Victor PIVOVAROV is famous as a founder of Moscow conceptual school, a very influential trend in our art. In the early 70s he begins to create paintings and drawings accompanied by the texts and forming albums and series. Some text is always there in his works.

Being involved in "big art", at the same time Pivovarov used to make illustrations for children’s books. Over 50 books were published with his drawings in a great many copies. We saw Ole Lukoye and other Andersen’s heroes as he created them.

Probably, Victor Pivovarov is the most humanistic and even lyrical in the whole Moscow conceptualist circle. His worldview is very detailed, looking carefully into every thing, be it just small stones on the road, clouds, passers-by. His works are individual and autobiographical, this is why it’s easy to understand them – no arguments are required for something that is private.
