Morton SUBOTNICK is a world-recognized pioneer in electronic music.
But it wouldn’t be enough to call him just a musician. He is a true contemporary Artist using various means and the newest technologies to create his works. And they are orchestra scores, stagings, and multimedia shows as well.
He was the first composer who was commissioned to write a special composition for phonograph, "The Moon’s Silver Apples".
It was Subotnick who wrote a composition for a bicentenary anniversary of the USA in 1976 performed by 8 orchestras.
His music sounded during the Olympic Games in 1984.
And no doubt, the organizers of a great show in Los Angeles night sky dedicated to Halley’s comet return on March 17, 1986, could not do without Subotnick’s electronic magic. |
