AUTO SCOPE, HALF PAST SIX, January-February
2001

Baranowsky Heike, Cott Anke

Heike Baranowski (AUTO SCOPE) and Anke Cott (HALF PAST SIX) work in Berlin with artistic photography using digital format.

For the first time the exhibition was shown September 24 – October 19 октября in Frankfurt-am-Mein in Steinernen Haus am Remberg.

AUTO SCOPE by Heike Baranowski is a cycle of 21 photographs made on the base of a video film shooting sheet where a trip along Paris ring road is shown. At the same time the camera is oriented to the center of the city. The centripetal motion provokes an optical effect of pulling towards a picture on the screen, i.e. towards the city.

HALF PAST SIX by Anke Cott consists of two photographs and a video projection. They are based on a computer cutting of various components, which differ in their confuguration, colour and format. The fragments of the objects, portraits boiled down to and developed in digital format, form complicated decorative spaces. With the help of computer the artist "Draws" architectural forms, figurative and abstract images, and at the same time she considers that her works continue the classical art tradition. The project is realized at the assistance of DG Bank and Goethe Institute.
